carried away

That movie reference reminds me of the first time I ever saw a CD and CD player. It was while watching "A Clockwork Orange", about 6 years before the technology hit the market. There's a scene where Malcom McDowell is listening to Beethoven on a small shiny disc that kind of looks like a little record, but thinner, smaller and silver. He presses a button on a machine and a drawer slides out, and then he puts the disc in and presses the button again and the drawer slides shut.

It was so truly, cool.

I absolutely love this movie. Last month my friend Paul remarked "Remember that movie Until The End of the World by Wim Wenders? Where everyone video chatted and watched their dreams all day? It all came true on the Internet."
